$450K Challenge: We Did It!
On Sunday, January 25, 2026 it was announced that a group of families have pledged to donate $450,000 to the Immanuel Lutheran School expansion—if we can match their gift by June 30!
On June 22, we met and exceeded our goal!
This means that, with the matching funds, Immanuel will have raised over $2 million.
Here's what this means:
The new high school grades will launch on-time in Fall 2026
Existing school grades will have the space they need
Students will get the technology and learning resources they need

Over $2 Million Raised Since 2024!
With God's blessing and your generous help, the Immanuel School Expansion project has raised nearly $2 million since it was first announced at the end of 2024.
Contributions can be made in several different ways, including:
Cash or check (by mail or with special envelopes available in the church narthex)
Credit / debit card via the portal
Wire transfer (to our account at AAACU)
If mailing a check, indicate "School Expansion Fund" in the memo field and send it to Immanuel Lutheran School, 355 Wilson St., Alpena, MI 49707
Have an IRA?
If you’re age 70 ½ or older, the IRS lets you make a tax-free qualified charitable distribution instead of a required minimum distribution.
By naming Immanuel Lutheran School as a recipient, you'll help provide a high-quality Christian education to students in Alpena and the surrounding area while also reducing your taxable income for next year.
Making a QCD is quick and easy, and in many cases you can do it directly from your plan's online dashboard. Talk to your IRA plan administrator for personalized instructions.

Anonymous Donations
If you'd like to contribute to Immanuel's School Expansion Capital Campaign but wish to remain completely anonymous, we are in the process of setting up a secure, 100% anonymous pathway for giving.
You will be able to contribute by wire transfer, mailed check, or in-person at our bank.
